Our Meditation class is an official extension program taught by Swami Nirmalananda through the Svaroopa® Vidya Ashram.

Beginning Meditation
Learn how easy starting a Meditation practice can be! 
Our Beginning Meditation class is based on the teachings from ancient yoga texts, and is an extension program of the Svaroopa® Vidya Ashram. 

This class is taught in a group setting, by Kirsten (Tirtha ), an Ashram authorized Meditation Instructor. 

We meet once a week for 3 weeks.  Each class lasts about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Each week expands on the previous week. You learn the philosophy of meditation and will be given reliable techniques to practice. I will help you find a posture that best supports you, overcome obstacles, and help you establish a daily practice.

Must have a minimum of 4 students to hold the class. It is strongly recommended that you attend each week during the class series. The information builds and deepens your understanding, and creates a firm foundation to begin or deepen your practice. Participants are encouraged to wear flexible clothing, all sitting props are provided. Bring a writing journal.

Group Meditation Class
We offer on-going support following the 3 week meditation series, in learning, sharing, and deepening your meditation practice. This class lasts about 1 hour and 15 mins. Includes introduction to the practice, the teachers, readings, chanting or mantra repetition, and meditation, of course! $10 suggested donation for our space & Ashram donation to provide ongoing free services.

Vichara is a yoga therapy technique that works as a guided self inquiry. It is a respectful, loving way of dealing with your mind. 

Vichara is empowering. 

It helps to shine the light of awareness into your life, so you can make conscious decisions. This question & answer process invites you to look a little more closely at the way you look at the world, and your place in it. It helps untangle the “nots” which create “knots” in your mind and body.

Vichara can be used to enhance personal growth, overcome obstacles, reduce reactivity, improve relationships & decision making, assist with letting go of anxiety, fear, depression. As the session evolves, you find your own personal truth which brings a level of peace and understanding with people and recurring events of your life.  

Confidential sessions last one hour, and can be done in person or over the phone. $65 per session. Discount packages available. Yoga experience is not necessary. Pay for Classes Here
